Today we started off doing an imagery practice with a poem by Elizabeth Bishop. We looked at some abbreviations for people over 65, for example: LMDO (laughing my dentures off). Then we took an oral test on the reading packet.

Last day before break!:o Today we dove into imagery with Elizabeth Bishop’s description of illegal fire balloons, paper chambers, hearts, and more. Apparently Ellide used her cheerleading voice to tell us about Bishop’s imagery! “Belt it out!” were Mr. Eldridge’s exact words as he encouraged her to speak up so that the entire class including Sharon:) can hear her! haha She was then rewarded with an applause from the class! As we all know the heart is filled with many emotions such as joy, frustration, sorrow, and so on, but the most common is love.<3 Mr. E thought he’d humor us a bit so he decided to inform us what our grandparents have been trying to tell us over text messages. The abbreviations were hilarious! Knee-slappers!:D Some of my faves were:
GHA-Got Hearing Aid?
Lol- Living on Lipitor
GGLKI-Gotta Go, Laxative Kicking In
CUATSC-See U at the Senior Center!

We also discussed FACTION! Also, apparently Tonly gave Mr. E the evil eye from where I was sitting it looked hilarious but we all know he didn’t do it purposely!=D…or did he? O_o hahaa
A helpful tip from Mr. E: “Go help somebody and you won’t be lonely,  plus you’ll feel good about yourself!” So I’d like to take this time to warn my fellow classmates, be ready to write a tough essay when we come back from spring break! In the words of Mr. Eldridge, “be ready to hit the ground running, full speed!”Wooo!!=)
