Period 4
Period 5
Today was an easy day before the break. We were supposed to have a culture day, but nobody really brought in any food. Mr. Eldridge stamped off all of our virtue papers steps 1-6 and then brightened our day by informing us that we have 3 more virtue essays in the future. YAY!!! Next, I did my trope on euphemism and Erica had a trope on climax which was printed on pink sheets of paper. For the rest of the period Eldridge tripped everybody out with weird optical allusions as he did a power point on epistomology (or however its spelt)….so yeah, thats it for the last day before break. happy holidays……NRRRR ZACHGLASSER!!!!! <3

Optical allusions?
Is that when something you see references to something else?

I think you’re right, @Adam. But usually they’re called Visual Allusions. Ahhh, such is human perversity!
I particularly like the allusions in ZOOLANDER. It’s kinda like an armchair sport for me. My favorites are the references to “The Godfather II” and Baz Luhrman’s “Romeo + Juliet.”

Just a question….why are random words becoming links to merchandise sites? The blue highlighted words create pop-ups, which is kinda weird for them to be on a site like this.

@ Alex, I am wondering the same thing. For example, when you click on Barbie’s name (the illustrious member of the blonde glasspuddles, not the doll), it takes you to a site selling Swan Lake barbies. Also, I think the Simpsons Movie is hilarious and has a lot of allusions. I like the part at the beginning where the barge sinks like the Titanic and where Bart puts on Mickey Mouse ears and says, “Look! I’m the mascot of an evil corporation!”

About the ads:
. (Especially with Nadir there too!)
Looks like Mr. Eldridge is banking some advertisement money for our next culture (party) to be amazing
Apparently the Simpsons is “A Brand New Animated Series From Mike Judge Coming Soon To ABC.”
..wrong?
