Period 4

Live from “Midnight Homework” Studios its Patrick Brooks with your daily scribe notes!

Here is a break down of today’s events:

  • I walked to class today and i could smell the ever so sweet aroma of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies in the air as my breakfastless stomach gurgled in desire.
  • After everyone decided that it might be a good time to sit down and get to work, I waited, yearning for today’s imagery worksheet. I finally got it and to my surprise I actually understood
  • Imagery 8 was  from the book Story of My Life by Helen Keller
  • Mr. Eldridge then explained to us that resaechers have found that people can move objects with their eyes by staring at them
  • Melanie and Terra-Lynne(I hope I spelled those right) shared with the class their mind bending experiences
  • We then shared all the cliche Helen Keller jokes we knew
  • Mr. Eldridge explained to the class that Helen Keller was actually an advocate for communism and that she is not mention in the history books because communism is viewed as a negative idea in Ameraica
  • So don’t do anything that the government doesn’t like because they will snipe you from a mile away while you are walking to school
  • We then discussed that Helen Keller did live pass the age of 13
  • We briefly discussed the change in history books over the years and how history in the second grade is cleaned up
  • Cowboys were friends with the Indians(I still don’t believe that)
  • Most cowboys were!(Black Power)
  • We slowly made our way back to the worksheet
  • TouchBalls = Tactile
  • After underlining all the imagery in the passage Brittany pulled us back from the depth and explained to the class that the tactile or touchball imagery in the passage is more specific because Helen Keller is blind and death and wants us to see the world the way she does
  • We passed the papers to the basket and began the 8 questions on the board
  • The most important of the questions was number one beautifully presented by Nicolette of the Team
  • She explained the difference between Classification and Analysis
  • Classification is putting objects or ideas into coherent systems or categories
  • Analysis is splitting an idea up and then in your analysis bringing it back together to its original state
  • We also discussed if lying to avoid harm to another is right
  • Most said they wouldn’t lie but, I know they would

And thats it for your daily scribe notes

And always remember “it ain’t nothin’ but a G thang”

Period 5

Daily Scribble,

Today October 30 is the day before halloween. I am excited. Not to unordianry of a day other that anarchy of the couch. Ryan Cady was successfully swooped by the feminist underdogs. We completed worksheet Imagery 8 and discussed its philosophical matters. It was about Hellen Keller the communist who wrote a passage with visual and tactile images despite her inablity to see. Despues, nostros hablamos porque Senor Eldridge escribo preguntas al white board. We discussed: that classification is going from many generic to a system and analyzing is going from specific to a generic idea. The cutleries decided Tannen is sexist because of her degrading of women. Lies are virtues if they benefit others. Epigram is a genereal statement made by an important person to introduce an idea. Evidence of ways we lie are from personal experience and show how the reader can relate. Finally a double speak is a euphamism to sugar coat the truth rather a lie is a deception which denies the truth.

  1. Two things:

Helen Keller was a communist. Wow.

We lie every day. Consider the language ritual: “How are you?” We reply, “fine.” I know you’re not all fine, people! But at least at the AP Level, we (I hope) start to break down those walls of inauthenticity.

    Essays due tomorrow! HALLOWEEN TOMORROW!

  2. i found what it’s called: psychokinesis

    eldridge- http://www.jackhouck.com/pk.shtml
you can go to one of the parties now :D

  3. Upon further research, wikipedia says that psychokinesis “has been called the most powerful of psychic powers, essentially the power of a god.”

i guess that makes me a god

  4. Well, her godliness, you may want to check out a provocative and strange little book: The Holographic Universe. You might enjoy.
