Daily Scribe Thursday, 9/25/2008 – Period 4

So today in Mr. Eldridge’s AP English class, it started off just like any day. As soon as Michelle and I walked in, we smelled something funny. And as always, there was a worksheet on our desk and it was an Imagery worksheet. Suddenly, people kept telling Mr. E all about how last night there was no online quiz for one of the stories we were supposed to read so Mr. E called us all stress cases which is what you get when you have a class full of AP kids. For some reason, Mr. E started telling us about the houses made in the1800s in Wisconsin and when there were floods there, there was nothing to be done to help. Nicolette interrupted this and asked about question number 2 on the worksheet because she did not understand it so Tristan shared his answer about how the dryness and wetness of the land were antithesis of each other. For the Apply section, it said to write about a rainstorm making it positive in one sentence, and negative in the next. Steven wrote his about a puddle that kids jumped in and an older lady was walking along and wished she could be young and jump in a puddle. So then she went through the puddle with her walker, but the puddle was too deep so she fells and her walker floated away. I’m not really sure how Steven came up with it but it was really sad and depressing… Then Mr. E told us that Mullholland Drive got its name after a man that fought in the “water wars” or something. Finally, groups shared their answers to questions on “Shooting Dad” and after Ed answered his group’s question, he told the class the reason he only has one shoelace is because he lost the other. I’m not really sure how that happens…

All right well time to go and enjoy the start of my three-day weekend. See you all Monday.

Annie :]
