Alright! Time to get the 2008-9 school year started…

I know you say we’re already started, but we’re getting started online, too. This going to be a place for you to keep up, stay connected, and always be informed. You all are welcome to suggest topics, leave comments, and so on–this will be a blog for and by and about you.
Email me ideas, and we’ll see if we can work them into the blog. Also please leave comments, especially insightful and well reasoned ones. Don’t worry if you don’t see it post right away. I will have to moderate most comments at first and then once we’ve got this thing set up right, it should take off.
I’m looking forward to hearing from all of you.

I just thought of a good idea for the blog. For the section titled “Get Some Sleep!” there should be a place to comment on that, or there should be a place to comment things in general that do not really have to do with the daily scribe. I looked at one of the articles about sleep and I realized that it is probably right that we do not all necessarily need 8 hours of sleep and it depends on the individual. Unfortunately, with all of the homework many of us have, we do not have enough time to sleep. Since we do not get enough sleep, we can not focus as well in class so we miss things so we have a harder time doing homework and it takes longer so we cut into our sleep time. It is a big downwards spiral and it is not a good thing. There should be less homework given to students so we are able to sleep for longer periods of time and pay better attention during class.

I agree with Annie, i like the idea of a place to comment on sections that aren’t part of the daily scribe. And she’s completely right, most of us don’t have time to sleep because we are doing our homework. Then, we don’t do as well in class and homework takes even longer and etc….
I usually only get 5 to 6 hours of sleep, or less. 8 would be almost impossible.
