Daily Scribe for Friday March 14, 2008

Today we have started with no Diction nor a syntax sheet; we have started the day with nothing of the sort. Today we started with a sort of talk period in which we have some fascinating discussions about people’s everyday lives. Then, Mr. Eldridge walked to the board, as if on a mission of some sort, and when he finally reached his destination he merely reminded us of the late work being due and that we were going to write an in class essay and take a short multiple choice. That was not the end of his news though; he also reminded us that the resource validity check write-up was due that very day!!! Hearts pounded as that piece of information hit our ear drums and became actual information in our brains. Everyone looks around; for what I do not know, maybe to see if their magical fairy will quickly come out and do their homework for them, but to no avail. As people were still in a sort of amazement of the news Mr. Eldridge had spoken to us, he quickly and with almost no effort passed out the essay prompt and multiple choice in a flash. Everyone was still in the middle of talking when Mr. Eldridge said that it was time for us to begin the essay and/or multiple choice. This caused, yet again, hearts to drop. The class quickly picked up their pencils and/or pens and, as if inspiration had struck them from God, wrote faster than my eyes could keep up with the pencil! but this inspiration did come at a price: the students sudden inspiration came with brief insanity. One person attempted to acquire a simple sheet of paper and then another of the students, clear across the room, told them to be quiet, when in fact the person that was asking for the paper was whispering and the person telling him to be quiet was yelling as if his legs had been crushed by an eighteen wheeler. Time went by almost as if Father Time had no care whether or not we achieve our goal of finishing the essay and the multiple choice. Although I noticed sudden bursts of inspiration, I too noticed the lack of it. I witnessed many faces with an eerie feeling about them; as if they had no life in them and that the only thing that was keeping them alive were the quick intakes and release of air. I too might have had this look about my face but I cannot know for sure due to my lack of pride. Once again time was against us, with only ten minutes left in the class the students hurried to finish their papers, even the living dead became alive with sudden fear when Mr. Eldridge said, “Okay you ten minutes,” in a somewhat robotic tone as if to say “There will be no mercy for time is against you.” As the bell rang a good number of the students had handed in their essay/MC but a good number were still writing as well. As the seconds flew by and Mr. Eldridge kept saying that it was time to turn the essay/MC in, the hands of the remaining students with some sort of Divine power wrote paragraphs like sentences, and pages like paragraphs!!! To this day I do not know where these students came by their sudden burst of energy, but I do know this I have yet to come by any inspiration of that sort.

PSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPS:

Late work will no longer be acceptable in any way shape or form after the late work due date and that is final!!!!!!!

Oh and also Scribe notes are to be in on the day that the responsibility is entrusted to you. If not Mr. Eldridge will begin to cut legs, ears, nose, arms; if he were a maniac, but Mr. Eldridge is a very sane man so he will only cut of chunks of the amount of points you can receive for the scribe notes so don’t screw up.
