Ironically, I was absent on Monday, but Kevin was nice enough to fill me in on what happened so I could do these scribe notes Thanks!

At the beginning of class, Syntax 13 was passed out and discussed.
The quote was taken from John Steinbeck’s “Of Mice and Men”. In this sentence, we learned how subordinate clauses modify nouns. This worksheet focused on how the meanings of nouns change due to subordinate clauses.

After we completed the daily exercise and turned it in, we were given a quiz on Walden that we could take home to complete. We have discussed much of the content in the quiz packet during class, so most of the answers shouldn’t be too difficult to get since Mr. Eldridge has already taken the time to discuss most of the passages. It isn’t due until Wednesday, so you have plenty of time to deduce the right answers!

We finished class off by completing our reading of an excerpt from Walden’s “from Conclusion”. Be sure to define the words and answer the questions that follow the passage. All the work goes into your journal, as usual.
