- Thoreau says that most people aren’t awake
- By protesting. People are awakened and enlightened

- Conclusion of Walden
- Thoreau goes to solitude because he hates conformity (sleeping morally)
- Conformity= giving up individualism, right to chose and think
- The class takes a tiny break because the projector needs to be borrowed…
- Thoreau wanted to get everything from himself, but that would be impossible, therefore he dives into books and art
- Section 30: Thoreau is afraid of people following him & rebelling also because they will be conforming in some manner, to him.
- Once Thoreau got used to the woods, he left
- We conform because we are social creatures and let’s face it, it’s less stressful.
