A Birthday

People often times forget the joy of birthdays, they are the days in the years in which people are born. Not only do they represent life, but they’re also a time for friends and peers alike to celebrate their friends. It serves as a day in which a person can be given special attention, without the assumption that the person is a favorite amongst others. Some of us may say we need it, but for others who work hard on a daily basis, inspires people, and does his or her part in society and the community, a birthday being celebrated is almost essential in its therapeutic properties. Similar to boosters, saying “happy birthday” to someone on their birthday does boost their spirits, and not only does boosting someone’s spirits make them happier, it by extension helps the people around them to be happier. That being said, I’d like to say that Mr. Eldridge’s birthday is tomorrow, 12/15, and I think he deserves that day because he works himself to the bone, grading for his AP classes.

That seemed almost too human for me. And by the way, it was Mrs. Eldridge who gave me the idea of a post.

  1. Thank you. You’re very kind. It does bring a smile to my face.

But let us not forget one of our own who is convalescing after emergency surgery, which, I hear, went well. Christina will not be joining us until the new year. So send you thoughts and prayers and a smile garnished message along to her.

  7. I know a person’s birthday is the best day in the year especially if they have friends and family to celebrate it with. I know I had probably the best birthdays ever this year because I got to celebrate with Tara for her birthday as well. We have to remember those with no family because they will always smile when someone can say “happy birthday”.

  9. Yay!!! I can get on the blog and login!! Because for the past two days, there has been this blue like design..something like that..no I am not on pain meds people, I know what I am saying…but yea…even ask Anthony, I was having trouble…

Hey you guys! I miss you so much! Thank you for the “get wells” and prayers! It means a lot to me! By the way, Mr. Eldridge Happy Belated Birthday!!! Like Kevin said, “better late than never right?” But yay, Happy Birthday! Kevin, I miss seeing you eat those Yoplait yogurts, but guess what? I’m eating one right now, with a fork!… I will see you all next year, 2008, meaning one more year until we graduate!!! GO 09! Wait, meaning AP tests, noooooooo! Wait, Wait, even better, SUMMER!!!!!! haha

Well, anyways, for happy birthdays! I really think that celebrating someone’s birthday is giving recognition that they are alive, that they are important in someone’s life, that God didn’t just create them and left them on Earth to rot and have no happiness in their lives. I know some of my friends really don’t care about celebrating their birthday in a “in your face” kind of way…you know people who who like shove it in your face the fact that they get this and that. they enjoy a simple party with friends. Others enjoy having everyone know, which I think is fine. It’s a perfect time to have the attention for yourself, without seeming like an attention seeker like Anthony stated.
