So these are my scribe notes for Halloween…
(Basically a series of side conversations followed by a lecture)
So we started class off with some discussion about some lady who farted
Eldridge passes out imagery worksheets.
Thomas wrote his essay on “How to be Jack Bower”…whoever that is.

Jersey City is a hell pit but the rest of Jersey is beautiful.
Melancholy®great word.
For thousands of years humans led lives punctuated by great noise. We live a life punctuated by silence.
Discussion about whether or not silence even exists.
Ancient Greeks weren’t concerned with sexual orientation compared to today’s society.
Greek roots are hard to decipher therefore we change them.

Barbies were made by men who fixed missiles.
-Represented two things simultaneously
-Barbie is disgusting
-Barbie represents women who get things on their own
Lecture:
Why do we make more when we’re young vs. when we’re old?
-Minimum wage?
-Having kids/getting married?
-Working less?
Men vs. Women in the Work Force
-Men make more money than women annually
-Men make more money hourly
-Women’s wages increase at a constant rate and yet men make more money.
Education also affects the amount a person makes
Cultural assumption®if you don’t graduate from high school then something is wrong with you.
Between 1975-2004 the total number of degrees awarded to women in
University of Maine’s system grew by over 50 percent while the # awarded to men decreased.
