Before Class began(outside of the classroom waiting for Mr. Eldridge):
- Lauren to Xtina: You guys lost to Brazil 3-0. (weird but ok)
- It’s 6:55 am and People are sill waiting outside of class in the cold for Mr.Eldridge to arrive
- 6:58 more people arrived and we’re still waiting for Mr.Eldridge (ummm it’s still cold)
- Jaime and Kayla are talking in Japanese while waiting for the ENGLISH teacher (ironic)
- Mr. Eldridge finally arrived to class at 7am(amazing that he arrived early
Class Begins:
- Gianna is busy studying for school
- Brianna measured her shirt with a ruler before getting to school to make sure it was appropiate.
- Mr.E replied with “it’s inappropriate. Go… I win you lose”
- Andre was late to class(arrived 7:09am)
- David Reuter and Laila Yousufi arrived at 7:09
- Eldridge had another talk about keeping track of everything going on in class in our journals
- While talking he kept flipping through a student’s journal from last year and kept flipping and flipping and well you get the idea. (journal was about a 100 pg. notebook)
- The journal was an example on how to put EVERYTHING in it
- Julian said he had a 70 pg. notebook
- Eldridge replied with “then you should probably buy about 3 more notebooks for this class or get a bigger notebook”
- Mr.E keeps talking and then goes into Romeo and Juliet and how we should apply all the skills and analysis we’ve had from the previous years and start expanding it more in this class
- At 7:11(awesome time) we began discussing Imagery #4
- at 7:21 it was noticeable when Patricia arrived (Mr.E told her something that I couldn’t catch)
On the Board
- Portfolio exchange @7:30am(
- we went to our English teachers from last year to get our portfolios and so that now Mr.E could file them in his cabinet in his classroom
Discussion and Imagery #4
- the imagery gave a sense of; desolation, dreery, depressing, scroch, lifeless, isolation, lonely
- water is giver of life
- spiritual change
- when it rains everything looks clean
- What happens to rain?
- it gets sucked up and is useless because the earth begins to dry up again and the rain no longer made the scene better but gave it a sense of sadness and dryness

Read The Description Section and “Arm Wrestling W/ my father and do an online quiz as well as Journal Response (look this up in October Calendar which was handed to you in class)

If you do not have calendar for what so ever reason do the Journal Response are on QoM 4, QoW 1&3, and QoL 1-2 and 4

Actually, Lily, Briana’s shirt was inappropriate and violated dress code b/c she was 1) wearing a halter top, and 2) her (bra) straps were showing. Briana was just trying to argue her way out of situation in which she couldn’t argue.
Remember to please observe the THS dress code. That means no halters, no spaghetti straps, no undergarment (of any kind) showing). This also means, gentlemen, Pull up your pants!
Our code is much more conservative than, say, a night club. That’s b/c we’re interested in building minds!

what what? Pop quizzes…sigh all right..by the way, for the people who care, Lauren said “U.S. lost to Brazil 3-0″ but really Lauren did not watch the rest of the game (gosh Lauren, haha). U.S. lost 4-0! It was bad! But the last goal was really good.

I am sort of confused on the Critical Writing. It says Dillard’s narration of the chase is only 6 paragraphs long. I don’t understand this, it goes up to paragraph 21.

For those who wonder who “mermaid” is…that would be ME!!!! Well, anyways, to more important matters, like always (I’m so positive!) I am having trouble with hw. The journal responses flow right out of me, but this critical writing is not. Just wondering if I was alone on this one…???

I am on the same boat as you Luanny. I understand it, but I have the hardest time putting things on paper. I am up to almost half a page and stuck about what else to type.

i am so proud of this post because i was having so much trouble placing it on line that now that i see it it’s like ‘Yeah i did something perfect for once in my life!’ haha. well i’m so proud to hear that some of my classmates found out about homework due this Monday i won’t mention any names(Michael).
Well i hope everybody took the on line quiz. it’s pretty easy. like the others ones so don’t stress out people. just read and the advantage of it is that we can use our bbr books(sucks for those who don’t have it yet.
