- The Critical Writing response is due on Monday
- We started off by doing the Imagery warm-up. The section was analyzed. We came up with a person being trapped. Their were strong symbolism like the dog being tied to the tree, the father yelled at her, the cop was there also. It represented imprisonment. In those times the women had to obey their husband. Her marriage was a complete disaster and the only way to escape it is by killing herself.
- We started analyzing two different paintings of Vincent Van Gogh. The first painting had swirls in the back, there was no scenery, the blue represented the ability to adapt to its surroundings and it also means life, water is life which the swirls represented energy flow around him making him able to live and do stuff. In the contrary, the other painting had a depressing touch to it. Van Gogh was getting older and the background was green and bright. We could all see the wrinkles and he looked pale. He looked like he had a disease. The brightness around his head represented a visible saint.
- We finished analyzing “Of Studies” by Francis Bacon. He is the person that came up with the saying “knowledge is power”. If a person was able to learn history then he is wise, if he is a poet he becomes witty… and so on. Basically he describes people that are educated and smart to be better than the average man. Bacon said that some books are meant to be read with diligence and attention. However some books are not worth reading. Just like Mr. E said about The Da Vinci Code. Bacon was very intelligent because understood the process being smart and how it can affect people socially and mentally
- At the end of class Sarah Lee did her trope on “Litotes”
-Funny things
- Patrica trying (once again) to be funny. we are not laughing with her…Gosh we’ve missed her!

*sigh*
Why is it that the vast majority of people think it’s spelled Johnathan? That spelling exists but it’s rare……probably about as rare as Jonaþan.
